Tear-Off Tabs & Heavy Hearts: Designing a Puppy Flyer
At first glance, it looks like the most ordinary piece of paper you might stumble upon on a local notice board: "Puppies for Sale!" Complete with little perforated tear-off strips at the bottom and a quick QR code to scan.
Simple. Functional. A routine template.
And yet, every time I work on a layout like this, something tugs at me.
The Contrast of a Perforated Strip
A Great Dane is not a grocery item. You do not just "tear off a number" and take home an eighty-kilo soul wrapped in velvet paws.
Look at those faces at the top. The flowers resting on their brows, the quiet, almost philosophical gaze in their eyes. They don't know about phone numbers, ancient bloodlines, or pedigree certificates. They only know warmth, milk, the smell of grass for the first time, and the human hands that held them when their eyes were still closed.
For a responsible breeder, hanging a flyer like this is never just about selling. It is a moment of letting go. It is placing a piece of paper on a board and silently praying:
Please let the right person pull that tab.
Please let it be someone who understands what "giant" really means—the couch space, the heartbreak, the boundless devotion.
A Template for New Beginnings
I designed this flyer template with that exact balance in mind: clean and easy to customize for anyone looking for good homes for a litter, but framed with dignity.
Because behind every tear-off number is a puppy waiting for a life—and a human hoping they made the right choice.
